2017 WORLD JUNIORS #AllConnected contest


HOW TO ENTER

No purchase necessary to enter the #AllConnected.

There are three (3) methods of entry into the contest:

(1) Through Twitter by tweeting an image or statement of who you would take with you to the World Juniors if you could, with the hashtag #AllConnected;

(2) Through Instagram by commenting on our post or by posting an image of who you would take with you to the World Juniors if you could, with the hashtag #AllConnected; or

(3) By commenting or liking TELUS’ #AllConnected contest related Facebook.

Contest runs December 19, 2016 to January 6, 2017. Limit of one (1) entry per day per person during the contest period, regardless of method of entry (up to a maximum of six (6) entries during the contest period. This contest is intended for residents of Canada and will be interpreted according to Canadian law. Contest runs from 7:00am PST on Monday, December 19, 2016 to 11:59pm PST on Saturday, January 6, 2017.

The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Twitter Facebook or Instagram.

An Entry that contains subject matter that, in the opinion of the contest administrators may violate community standards or is otherwise of questionable taste will be considered void. TELUS does not accept entries for this contest by any other means. In the event of a dispute, the person who is the holder of the Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account as specified on their entries will be deemed to be the entrant.

By entering the contest, you state that you have obtained consent (if your Entry contains a person) from everyone in the photo. If your photo contains a minor (under the age of 18) parental or legal guardian consent is required.

THE PRIZE

There will be three (3) prizes awarded. Prizes will be awarded as follows:

  • Gold (first place) – Trip for two to the 2017 World Juniors Gold medal game in Montreal (approximate retail value $3000)
  • Round-trip flight for two (2) to Montreal (economy class)
  • Hotel accommodation for two (2) nights in downtown Montreal (one room/double occupancy)
  • Two (2) VIP tickets to the Gold Medal game on January 5, 2017 @ 8:00pm EST
  • Silver (second place) – Trip for two to the 2018 World Juniors Gold medal game in Buffalo, New York (approximate retail value $3000 CAD)
  • Round-trip flight for two (2) to Buffalo, New York (economy class)
  • Hotel accommodation for two (2) nights in downtown Buffalo (one room/double occupancy)
  • Two (2) VIP tickets to the Gold Medal game on January 5, 2017 @ 8:00pm EST
  • Bronze (third place) – one (1) 50″ Smart TV (approximate retail value $750)

Actual value may vary depending on point of departure. If the Prize winner’s residence is within 300km of the event location a flight will not be provided and will be substituted with ground transportation. Winner is not entitled to monetary difference between actual prize value and stated approximate value.  If the Prize winner is unable to accept the Prize for any reason, prize will be forfeited. All expenses not specified in these Contest Rules, including without limitation, meals, gratuities, incidentals and other expenses, are the Prize Winner’s (and guests) sole responsibility.   Winner and guest are also responsible for all costs incurred to and from the departure points.  Winner and his guest must travel on the same itinerary.  No changes to the travel dates or passenger names are permitted once the booking has been made.  All flight and hotel arrangements will be handled by TELUS.

Phone prize does not include activation and all activations are subject to a credit check and the TELUS Service Terms.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible entries must be received on or before the closing date of January 6, 2017.  Entrants who are customers of TELUS at the time of entry and/or at the time of prize award must have their TELUS accounts in good standing (with a current account balance that is no more than 30 days past due) in order to be eligible to win the prize. This contest is open to all residents of Canada excluding employees of TELUS Corporation, its affiliated companies or subsidiaries (“TELUS”) and TELUS’ advertising and promotional agencies and members of their respective households.

THE DRAW

One (1) random draw will take place, by a TELUS representative, at the TELUS office located at 25 York Street, Toronto, Ontario at 11:00AM EST on January 1st, 2017. For the silver and bronze prizing, two (2) random draws will take place, by a TELUS representative, at the TELUS office located at 25 York Street, Toronto, Ontario at 11:00AM EST on January 10, 2017. The selected entrants will be notified by private message on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram immediately following the draw (based on the method of entry). If the selected does not respond back to the contest administrator within one (1) business day or if the selected entrants do not comply with all contest rules, another entrant will be selected from the remaining eligible entries. To win, the selected entrant must correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by phone or email.

The winning entrants of the prize must sign a standard Release and Indemnity form confirming compliance with contest rules and releasing TELUS and its directors, officers, partnership interest holders, representatives, advertising and promotional agencies from any and all liability arising out of, pursuant to, or as a result of the carrying out of the contest including liability arising from the acceptance of and usage of the prizes as awarded.  Failure to comply with the Contest Rules or to sign and return the Release and Indemnity form within 7 days of receipt will result in disqualification and another entry will be drawn.  The winner’s travel guest will also be required to sign a standard release form.

ENTRIES

All entries become the property of TELUS. TELUS assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged or misdirected entries or for any failure of Twitter or Instagram for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any Twitter or Instagram message, e-mail or entry to be received by TELUS on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from this contest. TELUS reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, cancel or suspend this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond the reasonable control of TELUS and its advertising and promotional agencies corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest or for any other reason at any time without prior notice.

Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered, tampered with or unlawful in any way.  Entries submitted by unauthorised means or by spamming will be disqualified.  In the event that it has been determined that an entry has been made in an manner not sanctioned by these rules and/or an entrant has submitted more than the number of entries permitted by these rules, the entrant and all of his/her entries will be disqualified. Entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and the decisions of the contest judges, which are final.  This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.

PRIVACY
By entering the contest, an entrant consents to the use of their name, city of residence, name of charity photograph, and image for publicity purposes in all media used by TELUS without payment or compensation. Entrants agree to TELUS using the entrant’s personal information as described in the TELUS Privacy Commitment located at www.telus.com/community.

QUEBEC RESIDENTS

Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
