Amazing things happen when we give where we live

Every year, our TELUS team joins together to lend a hand and give back at TELUS Day of Giving.

This past Saturday, May 31, more than 15,000 team members, family, friends and customers volunteered at our ninth annual TELUS Day of Giving. With 700 events held in 36 communities across Canada our team contributed 45,000 volunteer hours in the communities where we live and work!

One thing we’ve learned over the years is that every single positive action, no matter how big or small, can inspire hope and drive positive change in our neighbourhoods. It is fantastic to realize that since we started this powerful, grassroots volunteer event in 2006, more than 94,000 members of the TELUS family have participated.

On Saturday, I joined a group of volunteers, including TELUS board member, Stockwell Day at the Salvation Army’s Belkin House in Vancouver where our team helped prepare and serve food for our citizens in-need. I also stopped by Canuck Place, where TELUS volunteers dedicated their time to helping beautify the gardens at the children’s hospice. It was an immensely inspiring day, even more so knowing that similar events were happening across the country.

Share how you care

On the heels of TELUS Day of Giving, we are inviting Canadians to share how they give back in their communities. Until July 16, Canadians who share their community giving photos and stories at givewherewelive.ca, and on Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #givewherewelive, will have the opportunity to receive $50,000 towards their favourite cause.

We hope you will participate and encourage others to do the same.

Here’s a snapshot of how our TELUS team members, friends and customers gave back at TELUS Day of Giving events across Canada. Get inspired and share how you care.
