Supporting Education from the Ground Up in Guatemala

As you know, we love to Give Where We Live, but what you may not know is that our giving extends around the world. This video tells the story of how 2,000 TELUS team members in Guatemala donated their time, money and effort to build Los Patitos, a school for young children in Guatemala, as part of TELUS Day of Giving. The school – built in just one day – features seven classrooms, four meeting rooms, a library and a computer lab for 300 students.

Approximately 84% of TELUS team members in Guatemala voluntarily donate a portion of their pay, through the Employee Charitable Giving program, to provide support for local communities – which makes so much of our giving in the region possible.

Just last week, more than 2,000 TELUS employees expanded the school by building two wings onto the elementary school – one wing for boys and another for girls – so that even more children can go to school.

I would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to all our team members, who give so generously to those in need in the communities around the world where they live, work and serve.
