This week the 4th Annual Haskayne MBA Case Competition is underway in Calgary, involving 16 teams comprised of MBA students from across Canada in a live business case challenge. The only competition of its kind in Western Canada, these students are given 24 hours to work together and develop solutions to a real world business problem before presenting their case in a high-pressure, elimination style format. Aside from the chance to showcase their acumen, these students also receive the opportunity to network and make connections with local businesses, judges and sponsors.
The top four teams are awarded cash prizes, with the overall winner splitting a grand prize of $8,000. Judging criteria includes: creativity, insight, substance, and plausibility of implementation. The judging panel consists of 26 representatives from the local business community, including TELUS, Shell, CIBC and Ernst & Young. I was proud to represent TELUS as a judge.
As the official technology partner of this exciting event, your company takes great pride in supporting the education and development of these bright entrepreneurial minds. The vast amount of creativity, innovation and problem-solving skills on display here is truly impressive, and these competitors demonstrate great promise as the business leaders of tomorrow.
Congratulations to all who participated in this excellent event!
All the best,
