Read on for productivity boosting ideas!
@: As an entrepreneur, I constantly rely on technology to make my life a little easier.
One of my favourite apps is IFTTT, which essentially acts as an in-phone personal assistant. IFTTT allows all of your favourite apps to communicate with one another, so they work in the most optimal way for you. I mainly use it to link my social accounts. For example, when I post a photo to Instagram, it will then post natively to Twitter, which saves me a lot of time and effort.
To keep my team organized, I couldn’t live without Google Drive, which allows us to easily collaborate on all of the different projects we have on the go. Similarly, I like to keep my email organized – unroll.me and Boomerang are must-have apps! Unroll.me curates all of your subscriptions into one email every morning, while Boomerang allows you to schedule emails in advance. As you can see, I’m crazy about using apps to increase my productivity. For a full list of my favourites, check out this video.
@: As a Social Media Manager for Family Fun Canada, an online resource for both travellers and local families in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Halifax, I find myself learning on the job. I have benefitted immensely from the willingness among social media pros to help each other out. There is so much online about best practices and information on the ever-changing social space. Connecting with a few Facebook groups and sites that I have come to trust has been really invaluable. The Contently newsletter is one I find interesting, and the Facebook group called Social Media Managers has helped me a lot too.
I use the Hootsuite app for scheduling on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We have four city sites plus our national site, and it helps me ensure there are no conflicts among these different channels. I can use the mobile app on my phone and tablet which is awesome. I like not being tied to my laptop, which is why I would be completely incapacitated without my Samsung Galaxy S6.
@: Whether I’m blogging for Women on the Fence, preparing for my upcoming product launch at Hadry, or busy being a mom, I use a number of apps to keep me organized and productive. One of my favourites is Microsoft OneNote, which allows me to share my thoughts and ideas with my family and colleagues to view and edit. It’s a must-download!
When it comes to running my business, I use a number of other tech resources as well. Khan Academy keeps me learning with educational videos on almost any topic I need to learn about. Fiverr helps me get things done! It’s an online marketplace for services and I love checking out all the jobs I can get done for $5.00. ScanBizCards adds simplicity to my life. Instead of carrying around loads of business cards, I just take a picture to have the card uploaded directly to my phone’s contact book! Finally, when it’s time to unwind after a stressful day at the office, I use OMG I Can Meditate.
