The Small Business Challenge allows Canada’s brightest entrepreneurs to showcase their unique business ideas and share their biggest challenges. Now in its fifth year, the contest attracts more than 1,000 entries annually. In celebration of this milestone, we’ve worked with The Globe and Mail to make our fifth year bigger and better.
Most new small businesses are self-funded or financed by family and friends. But, sometimes these businesses need additional funding to overcome hurdles and get off the ground. That’s where The Small Business Challenge can help. Imagine how your small business could grow with $100,000.
It’s not just our finalist who wins big! To celebrate the fifth anniversary of the contest, we’ve added more than $50,000 in awards to help even more of Canada’s smartest entrepreneurs drive their big ideas.
- Four runners-up will receive $10,000 plus a TELUS technology pack valued at $2,000
- 10 regional winners will receive a TELUS prize package with an estimated value of $1,500
- Three most promising start-ups will receive $5,000 worth of marketing services and mentorship from Agency 59
- 50 honourable mentions will be featured in The Globe and Mail
We believe it’s imperative for businesses to give back to their communities, so we’ve added something new to the grand prize this year. In an effort to encourage all organizations to be philanthropic and promote our philosophy of giving where we live, we’re providing the grand prize winner an additional $10,000 to donate to a local charity of their choice.
Over the last five years, The Small Business Challenge has helped innovative Canadian companies overcome their challenges and reach extraordinary heights. We’re accepting submissions until June 1.
